Reclaimed Space: How MERC helped an ASC clean up a storage space and create opportunity to better utilize the area.

In February 2025, our team worked with an ambulatory surgery center customer in the Washington D.C. area to help them with leased storage space that began accumulating medical equipment. The ASC asked if we could facilitate a purchase and clean-out of the space as surplus medical equipment was beginning to pile up.

MERC inventoried the equipment, then supplied it to four secondary market buyers for review and RFP. Multiple buyers responded to the inquiry and from that, MERC and the ASC collaborated on the most efficient, effective offer to move forward with. The vetted buyer came to the site, loaded up the equipment, and cleared the space for the  ASC.

This process not only helped them recover value from the stored equipment, but reclaim and repurpose the space to increase profitability.
